ABOUT

Based in Australia, my journey into photography started in 2005 with the purchase of a digital camera and my first real overseas trip. Soon after, I found myself embarking on a career as a pro shooter, diving head first into the world of photography competitions, workshops, magazines, talks and exhibitions. As much as I enjoyed passing along the knowledge and techniques I had developed and seeing my images in print or published, I decided after ten years that the commercial aspect was taking the fun out of photography for me. Eventually, I took down my website and blog.
I divided my time between being a medical clinician and continued to travel but with a less single-minded pursuit of ‘getting the shot’. I’ve spent recent trips chasing auroras in the arctic, surfing waves in Ireland and Iceland, exploring North and South America, as well as completing my tenth trip to Venice for Carnevale. When the pandemic and lockdowns put a stop to international travel, I returned to Australia and turned my attention to some projects which had been neglected : many hours of unedited video footage sitting on my hard drives and rediscovering my love of performing music. Fittingly it turned out that both would complement each other.
