Landscapes of the East Coast of Australia

Gothic Pinnacles
Long exposure at one of Australia's most majestic coastal locations, Cape Woolamai which won me 2nd prize in the landscape category of the 2010 Australian Geographic ANZANG awards

Moonlight Shadow
One of the most magical moments I've spent at the Twelve Apostles, predawn as the moon set behind some clouds

Arch Starburst
I feel so lucky to have visited the Island Arch for this spectacular sunset not long before it collapsed in 2009

Burning Cliffs
Sea cliffs and rocks catching some searing light at the end of the day around Warrnambool

Detonation
All the dramatic elements coming together at sunrise : light, swell, tide, atmosphere, timing and waves exploding off the rocks into a myriad of cascades on the Bass Coast

Southern Swell
Stormy day on Kangaroo Island which became one of my best known photos courtesy of winning 2nd prize in the Veolia BBC Photographer of the Year competition in 2010.
Hanson Bay on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, faces the Southern Ocean and the full force of its massive swells and storms, which blow in from Antarctica.
'The tide was too high for the first two shoots,' says Kah Kit, 'but on the third, at sunrise, there was a storm.' As the dawn light filtered through the dark clouds, the tide was low enough for him to stand on the rocks. But rain and sea spray were a huge problem. 'I had to keep wiping the lens and filters,' says Kah Kit. 'In fact, saltwater damage caused my camera body to stop working altogether after this shoot.' The slow shutter gave the ethereal effect he was after, as if the sea were draining away at the edge of the world.

The Island Arch
An intense afterglow at twilight at the Island Arch captured several weeks before the middle section succumbed to the sea

A Beautiful Storm
On a very wet sunrise I ran down this beach on the Mornington Peninsula and fired a few frames while this rainbow and coloured cloud lasted resulting in an image which was commended in Nature's Best Oceans competition

Surf Coast Christmas
A Christmas present on Boxing Day 2022 with gorgeous diffused sunset light and fog
